FitMob is the latest fitness craze in the Bay Area. You know me, I am a sucker for trying any new fitness class and/or fitness adventure. Some girls love shopping. This girl loves shopping for new Fitness Classes. When Sweat Pink shared that Fit Mob was hosting a class, just for us, I had to check it out!
Since the Fit Mob Corporate Offices are in SoMa San Francisco, I invited my brother to meet up with me for a little Bro-Sis bonding sweat session. He works in the Mission, we bond over working out, so it was a perfect excuse to see each other. We decided to hit the “Weapons of Ass Reduction” Class. How can you not be motivated to move with a class hosting that name. Ready to get my own arse kicked, I excitedly took BART (Solo! Mid week for this Mama of 3 felt like a night out!) and popped off at Powell. Almost skipping down to their offices, I was beyond excited.
FitMob Corporate Offices are a dream to this trainer. The front is the “work” section with computers, bike rack, healthy snacking kitchen and open cubicles. Behind the office space is the open gym. Pull up bars, ropes, bands, TRX, Medicine Balls and a variety of other fitness equipment all over. Our teacher’s name was Kristina and from the moment she started talking, motivation and humor oozed out of her. Sarcasm and spice. Teasing everyone while she was warming us up with lunges, jumping jacks, push ups, “jumping rope”, caterpillars and knee ups. After warmed up, we were in constant motion with different partners. My first partner was 6’6″! Perfect match up for 5’1″ me. Alternating High Knee Bumps. *Sweet*.
Following we did:
Reverse Lunges with Forward Toe Touch Holds (Alyse and I were laughing while balancing here!)
Push Ups with High Fives
Wallsits with Grapevines
Frog Hops with Reverse Jump Lunges
Planks to Bicep Curls using Bands
Reverse Burpees and Roll UPs
Squats with Overhead Band Raise
Crazy Core Circuit: Bicycle, Boat Pose, Pulse Crunch, Heal Toe Touch, Stretching with Extension
Following Class, I talked to Kristina about FitMob and how it is growing and changing. The concept behind FitMob is to link incredible instructors, studios and classes as a a “team of gyms” under one membership. It came to be from creator and “Sweatpreneurs” Raj Kapoor (co-founder of Snapfish), Paul Twohey (Techie and Martial Arts Champ) and Tony Horton(Creator of P90X). The idea of bringing together all the great elements of fitness to blend into a dynamic and progressive fitness community!
FitMob is 3-Fold:
1. Classes at the Studio itself- Fit Mob Offices
2. Classes all over, outside in San Francisco with a team of incredible instructors.
3. FitMob 2.0- Classes all over San Francisco (and greater Bay Area) that holds spots reserved for those who buy the FitMom Membership.
After a night of sweating while laughing, I know I am down for more FitMob adventures. My brother and I have a goal to meet up 1-2x/month and do various FitMob Classes together. We can reach our fitness goals with Superstar trainers, while making memories together. That is a win-win in my book. Maybe I can get him doing Cardio Barre next time?!
